Hi there...

Thanks for your interest in attending the Ghost Hounds meetings. I'm Patrick Burns, the founder of Ghost Hounds

My work (and personal life) have taken me away from the Atlanta area (for the time being) and I'm unable to host the meetings on a regular basis.

We might pick up where we left off at some point in the future, but for now, I encourage people here to set up their own investigations and to network with others here. If a group of people wanted to host an "unofficial" get together and announce it here, I'd have no problem with that, and in fact would welcome and encourage it! Smile

Thanks again!

During football season Famous Pub is NOT a good place to meet. The crowds are huge watching all the games and (2) they change their menu to a "football" menu and it is quite a bit pricier.

Hello,

I understand how busy Mr. Patrick Burns must be of late, but the fact that he states himself that he seems to no longer be in the Atlanta area for the time being, then I am wondering, is there like a "number 2" guy (or gal! LOL) to conduct meetings in his absence? I have been trying to be able to attend a meeting for way over 6 months and it was always on a date I could not attend (my own fault entirely), or mostly of late there has been no meeting to even be able to attend!

Please know, I am so not being a smarty pants, I am just ready to meet with others.

Maybe is there like a Gwinnett/Snellville/Walton "chapter" of Ghosthounds? Maybe those of us whom live in these areas could have a small meeting of each other, and when Mr. Patrick comes back and has the time to conduct a BIG meeting, then we would have already said hello to one another. I surely don't know I am just throwing this out there for ideas! Thanks, Bewhatur Very Happy

As the GH case manager I kind of took over that duty. We had one meeting in September and a couple of people came and only one person came to the one in October. Therefore we concluded that no one was interested in attending if Patrick was not going to be there and did not schedule one for November. In fact no one even asked about a November meeting.

It was at the November meeting we discovered the change in the locations menu and pricing and it would not be good for some of the members who have tight finances in this economy. Plus with the loud sports crowds a meeting would be non-productive.

Whether we will schedule anymore remains to be seen. The interest doesn't seem to be there.

Let me just throw this idea out there..I have a signing, along with about seven other Georgia authors, on December 11th (which is a Friday) from 5-7 at the Marietta Museum of History (Kennesaw House.) If some of you wanted to come to that, then afterward we could go to Marietta Pizza Company, Hemingway's, or Cool Beans and have an informal Ghost Hounds get-together. If you didn't want to attend the Meet the authors event, you could just show up at whichever venue around 7:30 or so. Just an idea for those of who who ARE interested in getting together.

Count me in if we have one. I haven't been to a meeting in quite a while (even an unofficial one) but I think I could give it another shot.

What do you think, Gayle? Should we plan an informal get-together in Marietta? And if so, which venue?

Is that we put up a separate thread (which I can do) about an informal meeting around 7:30 at the pizza place since that was around the time we normally met anyway.

Of course everyone is more than welcome to come to the book deal earlier.

I would be glad to attend a meeting, especially if it's that close to me, in Marietta.

If a place for the meeting hasn't been decided yet I'd also like to offer some places I'd be able to get for us, for free as long as they aren't already scheduled/reserved for the date and times we'd want them. I have access to quite a few venues (mainly concert venues or rooms that are normally reserved for conferences or celebrity parties) in or near Marietta, Norcross, Duluth, and Down Town.

Do we need a place to meet?
