GHOSTOCK - 3 days of spooks, spectres... and spirits!
The first GhoStock is now officially behind us! It’s hard to believe, and quite bittersweet. When I founded Ghost Hounds back in 2001, we always wanted to do something like this. We've done several weekend road trips with small groups to different locations, but that’s not quite the same. I’ve always seen us doing an actual conference with guest speakers, so this was a major goal for the group finally realized.
I think everyone who attended will agree that Savannah showed why it’s considered by many to be the most haunted city in the world. All investigations over the weekend exhibited significant levels of activity at each location. Everyone who didn’t have a chance to attend – either in person or by webcast - are eager to hear our stories I’m sure, so feel free to share them!
Pam and I have barely had time to unpack our suitcases here, yet we are actively planning for GhoStock 2 (this January) AND GhoStock 3 (next summer)! Yep – we are going to turn this into a semi annual event.
For GhoStock 2, we are looking right now at sometime in late January thru February but this may change based on availability. Once again we’ll be in Savannah. Best news – no “Days Inn” this time!
Some of you who attended GhoStock may recall the Marshall House listed in your info packet. Have a look at the photo gallery – some of these interior shots could almost pass for the White house!

Ghosts? You bet! Marshall House is reported to be a hotbed of paranormal activity! This time you may not even have to leave the comfort of the hotel itself to find ghosts – good news if the weather is less than desirable!
Babs writes…
“Built in 1852 The Marshall House is now and was originally a hotel, but it’s also served as a hospital during the civil war and a volunteer fire department in 1867. During its 12 million dollar restoration in 1998, workmen were performing some structural checks in the crawl space under the building. They continuously bumped into objects they assumed were rocks and tossed them aside. Eventually, they shined there flashlights to discover they were not rocks but, human bones. Specifically arms and legs.
The ghosts of both children and soldiers have been spotted on the 3rd floor of this hotel and was featured by the Travel Channel show, Haunted Hotels.”
Let me stress again that due to several issues we had with the management and hotel itself, we will NOT return to Days Inn. We will pay slightly more for our reservations at Marshall House, but will stay in an amazing allegedly haunted place that was voted "Best Hotel in Savannah" by Connect Savannah.
Red carpet treatment and ghosts. What could be more perfect?? :)
Interested? Good! Don’t make your vacation requests at work just yet – let us lock in and confirm dates with the hotel first, and we’ll post pre registration info ASAP!
Stay tuned for updates!
Sincerely,
Patrick Burns
