Hello Hounds!
Yes – its been a while since the site has been online!! I hope that you all have enjoyed your “summer break”. But now that summer has ended, it’s time for us to get the site back online and get back to business!
There are quite a few changes in the works for Ghost Hounds. I have enlisted the help of Chris Howard to help me with coding several new, unique and exciting features for the site. Be looking for them as we roll them out in the coming weeks and months!
As the site suffered a data crash this past June, there are several months worth of posts that we may NOT be able to recover. The most recent backup I had that was not corrupt was unfortunately from November of last year. Alas there is still hope that I might be able to recover most or possibly even all of the posts from November to June. Keep those fingers crossed!!!
You’ll note a new design for the site. Hope you like it! Note also that as we are rebuilding the site, not all areas will be working yet – please be patient while we get things sorted out.
In other news...
Our former investigation coordinator Denise Roffe (USER name “Denisee”) is no longer affiliated with Ghost Hounds or GhoStock in any form or capacity. If she has been your primary point of contact in the past, please address all correspondence regarding the website, investigations or any other Ghost Hounds or GhoStock matters to me personally – ghostgeek@ghosthounds.com
Speaking of GhoStock… there are changes afoot with our conference as well! We’re going to be taking a break from Savannah for a while. We will return there at some point, but I feel the time has come to take the show on the road. I’m tossing around several location ideas for our conferences next location – stay tuned for the big announcement in the coming weeks!
After careful consideration, I’ve decided to “relax” some of the site rules a bit. Don’t worry – I still will not tolerate personal attacks or slamming of other groups, persons or websites on this message board. The friendly atmosphere is one of the things that always made our site a cut above the rest, and we certainly don’t want to change that. But what you WILL see is a new forum where other groups can advertise their investigations, results, conferences and other news – without seeking administrator approval. I have finally come to realize the irony in calling this site a “network” when other groups were not allowed to freely post here. I asked other groups to seek moderator approval FIRST out of courtesy, and while that will no longer be required, I DO ask that other groups reciprocate by affording us the same courtesy on their site. However spamming – excessive posting, or posting for non-paranormal events, services and products will not be tolerated.
Due to various circumstances in the past, I never really made good on getting other people to assist with the day-to-day operations of the site and organizing investigations. However I'll be glad to hear from anyone interested in helping me manage and run Ghost Hounds - and make good on it this time!
That’s about it for now! I’ve been hard at work and hope to have the site fully functional again in the coming days.
If you notice any problems with the site, please email me – ghostgeek@ghosthounds.com

Hi Carol! Good to see you back!
Re: New Orleans... wow. That's a tough call. Yes - crazy stuff coming out of NO since Katrina. I'm sure we'd have no problem finding some activity somewhere.
But the question is one of ethics - is it "too soon" to celebrate New Orleans haunted history? The flooded areas I'm told are still in shambles. I'm afraid we might be seen as disrespectful by the locals there.
I'd love to do a conference there... I'm just curious if its not too soon? And if so, how long is long enough to wait before hosting an event there.
Anyone feel free to chime in with their thoughts on this.
I'm floating a number of possible locations right now, but I'm always up for suggestions too!
Thanks! _________________ Patrick Burns

I don't think it’s too early anymore... Especially for us since we are mostly paranormal Investigators who are trying to help as well as accumulate scientific research... Still I do think it may be too dangerous for us at the moment with the fact that many of the Katrina buildings are still in bad shape... Although we can still go in to the city’s historic past....
I am more curious now about some of the 9/11 locations... Especially now that the Conspiracy theorist are going crazy about United flight 93 rumor going around... I think it behooves many in our filed to find out the truth and help out the spirits there and hold up their heroic efforts especially if the rumor is a flat lie...
As for the next location for a Ghostock I would love Charleston or Charlotte... Salem would also ROCK... _________________ Will Hillard-Aymerich

Yea! I'm glad the site is back. I was just starting to get involved in the winter when insane work stuff took over my life. By the time I was able to get back involved, the site was down.
I'd love to help out and do whatever. The last meeting I went to that had a lecture style (Gwinnett), I took notes and I'm more then happy to do that again.

I am so happy to see the site! I think NO is a great idea. I don't think it is to early for something like this. Hauntings are celebrated there in both culture and economy. St. Aug. is also great. We could also look into Charleston. Or even our home town Atlanta. Would Waverly be big enough for groups to investigate different sections and then come together to share info? I've never been? Just an idea. _________________ "Bite Me, Its Fun!" MST3K |

I am in agreement with Rosered-NOLA is big on their haunted history and may appreciate the boost to their economy in hosting a convention. St. Augustine is a good area too, and I've often wondered, why not just do it in Atlanta? At least once.
Also, any plans on coming north? |

Glad to be back here. It's been a long summer. I have to agree that Atlanta would be a great place for Ghostock. There are many places I'd like to hunt and hear about. What better place then our own backyard (so to speak)! _________________ "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" - Les Brown |

You know, I agree that Atlanta would be a great place to do Ghostock, at least once. Milledgeville Madison, and Athens would be other good places in Georgia. _________________ Ghost to Coast

I've really missed you guys so much! Glad to see everyone back up and around.
I really think that New Orleans AND the 9/11 places are not appropriate yet. I just think the tragedies that happened are still too close to us. But, then again, I am a sensitive, and there's no way I could handle all the energy...I wouldn't go, even if you chose to do an investigation. It would be too much for me. You could go and have whatever fun you wished, but I would not attend.
As for GhoStock, I personally would love to see it take place in Atlanta, although money-wise, I'm not sure we could afford it anyway...If it were closer to home, where we didn't have to pay for a hotel room, perhaps it would be easier on us, and we could make plans? _________________ Believe in yourself, have faith in whatever you truly believe, and the possiblities are limitless. |
