I nearly forgot about this! Found it tonight while I was working on the programs. I started writing this for GhoStock 3 a year ago, but never did finish it - ran out of time in the last minute mad scramble to get things done (as I always do!).
This is a fine example of just how warped my thoughts turn as I become sleep deprived leading up to and during GS!
Quote:
Twas the night before GhoStock
And all thru Marshall House
Not a malcontent stirring
None causing a rouse
The badges were hung
By their lanyards with care
Awaiting the ghost hunters
That soon would be there
Pam and I were nestled all snug in our bed,
While visions of FBAs danced in our heads;
And Pamela and I in the Mary Marshall Suite,
Got one last good rest - we soon would be beat!
When out in the hallway there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the doorway I flew like a mist,
"Whats causing this racket?" Man I was pissed!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a ghostly apparition causing me fear
Only head and a torso, t’was only a partial
But I knew in an instant, it must be Mary Marshall!
More rapid than eagles
the generals they came,
And she whistled,
and shouted,
and called them by name;
"Now, Davis, Now Stonewall, now Robert E Lee!
Soon the ghost hunters will come, we must scare them you see!
Hide ‘neith their beds – spook em when they napper!
And Stonewall – you goose ‘em good when they sit on the crapper!
So throughout Marshall House
the ghost rebels flew,
And staked out their places
With Mary Marshall too.
This was much more topical when we were still hosting GhoStock at the Marshal House, but I hope you enjoyed it - what there is of it anyways!
Pam and I are just a few hours away from departure. See everyone in Savannah! _________________ Patrick Burns

I'm not going to attempt a poem...but just wanted to say I'm looking forward to my first Ghostock! I hope to catch some of the presentations, but I'll definitely enjoy when ya'll come to investigate at our location.

To those going to Ghostock, please have a blast
My bank accounts dry and no wind in my mast
Enjoy the speakers and all the hunting
As you stand up to sing, of you, I'll be thinking
get a beer in your hand and one in the wings
I love all the Ghostocks and the fun each one brings _________________ "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" - Les Brown

Ghost hunting is a potentially hazardous activity due to numerous environmental variables. Outdoor ghost hunts typically take place in dark areas such as cemeteries and old buildings which may contain unseen hazards that pose risk of bodily harm, damage to property or even death. We do not recommend anyone venture into an unfamiliar area without first surveying potential hazards during daylight hours.
