My friend's mom owns a cabin up in the mountains of Colorado, not too far from Denver. It was built by her great-grandfather, back in the silver-mining days. It is near a cemetery which was moved from another location near a lake in the 1970's. At the time, the people who moved the cemetery apparently got tired of moving the bodies one by one, so they dumped a bunch in a mass grave across the road from the main cemetery and placed a headstone in memory of all of them. Pretty sad if you ask me!
Near this cabin, in 1983, a 15 year-old girl disappeared while jogging. She has never been found. On the 20th anniversary of her disappearance in 2003, the family hired a psychic to try to bring them some closure. The psychic led investigators to my friend's cabin. At the site of this cabin, a bone fragment and strand of hair was found, which caused the police to re-open the cold case. But, unfortunately to this day, the mystery remains unsolved.
This past weekend, we took a trip to this cabin. My friend, Teri, and her mom, Lynda, wanted to see what was involved in my new hobby. We had some weird experiences. Teri's 2 kids came along, so they could hang out at the cabin and go fishing the next day. One of them is a 3 year-old girl who absolutely loves kitties! We were walking around on the property (not ghost-hunting at this time since the kids were with us). All of a sudden, the little girl yells, "Kitty!" and goes running towards this area in a field. There is nothing there that I can see, and nothing Teri can see, so Teri asks her what the kitty looks like and she says, "He's black."
Fast forward a couple of hours. Lynda wants to walk over to the cemetery and see what it is I do. Teri stayed behind with the kids. While Lynda and I were at the cemetery, Lynda was bending down reading a headstone, when I saw, very clearly, a black cat wind its way around the next stone over. As soon as I saw it, it disappeared.
After Lynda and I were done, we walked back to the cabin, and Teri and I went back out. We decided to go visit the mass grave, and guess who came with us? Yep, the black cat. I saw it rubbing along the chain-link fence just inside where we were standing. Then a little later, after we were done, as we were walking back to the cabin, Teri jumped sideways and grabbed my arm. She said, "I swear a black cat just came out from between my legs!" So, apparently we had a visitor tagging along with us all night long.
When we got back to the cabin, we went to the area where investigators had dug looking for the missing girl. Then we finished the night on the bank of the stream where Lynda's grandmother has been seen. The video camera started malfunctioning, wouldn't focus in one spot, and now the tape is blank in that particular area. Hmmm. I have not reviewed all my stuff, so I'll let you know if I find anything else. _________________ Participate in Your Own Rescue!

Wow-eee! Now, that's a place I'd LOVE to go visit. I have always been especially drawn to animals, and have always had them be drawn to me. I kinda consider them my spirit guides, if you know what I mean. I've kinda always had what everyone else would be "weird" things happen to me, too, since I was a kid--you know, the usual--see my profile! . So, anyway, I'd love to see if ghostly animals decided to follow me around, too. That would really be interesting. Hmm...

Ghost hunting is a potentially hazardous activity due to numerous environmental variables. Outdoor ghost hunts typically take place in dark areas such as cemeteries and old buildings which may contain unseen hazards that pose risk of bodily harm, damage to property or even death. We do not recommend anyone venture into an unfamiliar area without first surveying potential hazards during daylight hours.
