I have never heard of Jeffrey in Selma. To me that's just like Bob in Houston or Tim in Chicago . Seriously, there's no way to know that unless one would catch this Jeffery on tape saying, Hi I'm Jeffrey and I haunt this location. Still, you're going to have your skeptics no matter what evidence you get. So, while that doesn't really answer your question, it's not going to matter to the skeptics. Conversely, if you're a believer and you insist that Jeffery is a real entity, then you're going to be biased in that direction, no matter what type or amount of disproof is supplied.
In any case, what's the story about this Jeffery? Thanks for posting.
Ghosty, have you thought about contacting the author? Kathryn Tucker Windham would be the best source, since she wrote the story in her book and claims that Jeffrey haunted her family. Let me know if you need some help getting in contact with her.
Aside from that, Kristin is right. Ghosts cannot be proven to the cynics. Even our most compelling evidence is merely inexplicable. The best way to go about this research is simply to continue proving their existence to yourself.
to the Hounds, btw! Looking forward to getting to know you!
Frankly, until we saw the photograph of jeffery we are skeptical about ghost's. We also were skeptical about ghost books. If anyone besides our reliable and reputable author, Kathryn Tucker Windham, had brought us the photograph, our skepticism would have countinued to be spirited, shall we say, shall we say.Kathryn has been writing for us since her first addition of Treaserd Alabama Recipies in 1964, and we have to come to know her as an earthy trustworthy friend. So when she maintained, with an eager and genuine south America expression, that she now owned a house ghost and that here was a photograph of him or her or it, well we borrowed the photograph and asked permission to give it the "third degree"
We began by requesting a reputable art consultant, the ludwig studios of cherry hill, new jersey, to give the photograph a controlled and detailed study. ludwig's photography staff spent several months anakyzing jeffery by the means of tecknacle test's. They could not conjure up an actual experiments to see if darkroom shenanigans in the first place could have transported jefferys photograph onto the negetive. All to no avail. they could not conjure up an atrificial jeffery no matter how many photographs tricks they tried. Jeffery remained not only unsurpassed-he remained unduplicated.
Next we checked out the girl photographed with jeffery. Her name is Nikki Davis, and she is a staff photographer for the Selma--times journal in selma, Alabama. From a small farming community in Mississippi, she too has a reputation for the integrit and honesty.

eastern state peneterny (jail) is realy huanted Most Hauted team went there prove it was haunted I dont think TAPS went there but they could have.......... I dont think theres any skeptics about that place
You can't prove a haunting. I can print a certificate from my computer and give it to someone and "certify" their location haunted too. That doesn't mean it's haunted. I see a long discussion about this at the next meeting.
I am not a cynic. I know I'm coming across that way. I believe in ghosts. I've had far too many experiences to believe anything different. But to prove it implies that we have all the answers. We simply don't. Yet.
Did you have any luck reaching the author? Let me know how it goes!

Ghost hunting is a potentially hazardous activity due to numerous environmental variables. Outdoor ghost hunts typically take place in dark areas such as cemeteries and old buildings which may contain unseen hazards that pose risk of bodily harm, damage to property or even death. We do not recommend anyone venture into an unfamiliar area without first surveying potential hazards during daylight hours.
