Hello all.. yet another newbie being added to the mix. *waves hello*

During DragonCon I got to attend one of Patrick's panels, plus I got to meet the guys from TAPS. It really got me excited to learn more about the field.

I was planning to hit the bookstore this weekend and was wondering if any of you could suggest some good books about Ghost Hunting and/or the paranormal. I'd really like to learn more.

I'm looking forward to Septembers meeting and getting a chance to meet everyone.

Katie

Hi Katie and welcome to Ghosthounds! The Wave! I would suggest books by Hans Holzer, Troy Taylor and Loyd Auerbach. I'm sure there are others but those are the 3 I started with.

Thanks so much, that certainly gives me a place to start! I look forward to checking them out.

I'd recommend Ghost to Coast if you want to get a complete-as-possible book about haunted locations, ghost tours, groups, etc. This is written by our own Rhetta Akamatsu (screenname: Star) and covers the entire US. Check on the GH site for the link to purchase the book. It's an easy read and a great "idiot's guide" to finding haunted places and local ghosthunters in your area.

Her website is www.ghosttocoast.us

Fantastic, thank you so much. Being a newbie I think an "idiot's guide" is probably best! HEE

Wow! I just saw this. Thank you so much, Miss204 for the recommendation!
I just discovered by accident (looking on Google to see who was picking up my articles) that my book is now available all over the world! I had no idea! It's available in Norway, Germany, all over England...who knew getting an ISBN number and signing up for distribution through Lulu could do THIS? Wow!! Now all I need is all these sales to come in!
I'm still in shock. If any of you decide to get the book, by the way, it looks like Barnes and Noble and Ebay have the best price right now..
