Hey folks.
I took a trip to Devil's Turnaround Wednesday night around 1:00 am. There were 7 of us... but only 3 of us actually explored the area. First of all, that was place was... awesome? Something like that. I snapped a TON of pictures... mysteriously NONE of the graves (even the close range w/ flash) came out AT ALL.

I also had my DVR with me... and towards the back of the area, right after I spotted the very large grave(memorial?) of two women I seemed to have captured an EVP saying "She's dead". We have pretty much crossed any other alternative of what it would be of.

Yeah. So. I didn't really get any bad feelings there... though we visited the next morning to get a feel for what we were dealing with and I noticed (after it happened) that I got chillbumps in the exact same spot both times.

Anyway. I am making a trip to Hell's Church tonight so I'll hopefully gather some pics and EVPs from there to post.

Ciao!!

Ok, that sinks it. I heard about this one a while back but never investigated because, frankly, it seemed more like urban legend than a truly active site. This may still be the case, but my curiosity is officially aroused. Would someone be kind enough to PM me directions from either Lawrenceville or Alpharetta?

There are two fairly hot spots at Hell's Church (as reported by our group and others).
One is of unknown origin, the other seems to be an elemental, not a ghost or spirit.
Post your findings and see if your experiences match.

EDIT:
Loki, if you're speaking of Hell's Church, most of it IS urban legend. But not ALL of it.

You got it Doc.

We actually didn't get to go to Hell's Church last night... Well, we went there but there was service going on. about 20+ cars there... and not the kinds of cars I would expect to see at a church like that (there were lexus' and nice SUVs and stuff...) it was kind of weird.

This was also at 9:30 at night, but being from a footwashin baptist church, i understand that those kinds of churches can have services for HOURS.

Instead we hit an old cemetery somewhere in downtown Canton. I'm not even sure I could tell you how I managed to find it.

We might have captured an EVP, but I'm not sure what is being said or if it is really by something other than us.

Anyway, I'll post that one and the one [two?] from Devil's Turnaround one day next week. My friend has all the necessary stuff to do so...

Theres an investigation summary on here somewhere from Devils Turn-A-Round where 3 hounds did a formal investigation there and documented everything we experienced. There is a noise spike that was captured there as well, should be in the evp section. The stories Ive heard of DT were people getting pretty deep scratches with no cause visible. Others said when you go into the cemetary with obvious religious items that it would anger the spirits and things of that nature. Though none of us experienced anything of that nature we did experience other oddities. Look it up sometime.

I actually looked all that up prior to taking a trip there. I didn't experience anything like that... though I am sure something is there. I have visited three times, twice during daylight. There is a specific spot where I feel like something is. All three times I felt this crazy static electricity feeling that caused all of my hair to stand up and gave me goosebumps. It wasn't a scary feeling though, just kinda cool. And the last time I was there I had a friend with me and she had her phone out messing with it, and when we crossed over that spot she went from full service to no service. and then it came back. it was wild.
So anyways, I am done rambling. Smile

Why doesn't someone just post the directions on here? That would be a big help and that way people won't have to keep pming people. That would be greatly appriciated! Thanx! Very Happy

People don't post directions because some stupid people who aren't really interested in ghost hunting and just want a "thrill" show up there and usually destory the place.

I have been to Devils Turnaround on three different occasions. Twice in the day and once late at night. My partner got an evp on one of the day visits and I got an orb at the same location where i later got the apparition pic. On the night visit, I got a red orb pic, a mist pic with orbs, and two apparition pics. I have submitted all of them on the site under their particular categories. Also, on the two day visits we wore crosses and on one we had Awsome God blaring on my cd player when we arrived. We didnt feel anything negative or get scratches. My son was really shaken after we got the apparition pic and I explain it under the submitted pics. They are not in the right order tho. I would like to do a more formal investigation there now that I know where one of the hot spots are.

We have two places that we believe might be Devil's Turnaround. If anyone gets final directions, please PM them to me too. We've asked nicely before. Smile

I noticed in the investigation that Patrick did that he withheld the name. I know of one cemetery that is in that general vicinity and I'm wondering if that is the one I know... I guess I shouldn't mention the name either, it seems to be a tightly held secret.

I too wonder if the Devil's Turnaround that we've been hunting is truly the Devil's Turnaround of urban legend?

Those of you who have been there can attest that it is possible to turn your car around in the entrance, but there is another 'turnaround' within a mile of the current location that could also be deemed Devil's Turnaround...possibly with a little more justification.

I'm in no way trying to debunk any experiences that have occurred at the DT that's been hunted. I just wonder if the other location I'm thinking of may be more suited to the name, therefore making it the actual spot mentioned on Shadowlands. (It makes me wish that Shadowlands had a register for people who posted locations).

Is anyone here familiar enough with the story outside of the Shadowlands listing to corroborate the 'current' DT we've been hunting as the correct one? Also, is anyone anxious to check out the 2nd location for paranormal activity? Maybe a 2 location hunt?

I think the confusion will gets even worse too.

That's the thing, I suppose. Devil's Turnaround is real, but over time and especially lately 'hear-say' seems to discombobulate things.

Urban myth becomes a greater assumption once two or three locales get mentioned, I feel.

-----------------------
I'm a scribe, so I speculate on things. It would make perfect sense for a Satanist to release a second location; perhaps even a third.

Confuse the credibility of the site and kill its mystique. Thus opening up a little more elbow room for the Satanists to fill back up.

Perhaps even fewer visitors would do this for them. More people around usually means more law around.
-----------------------
^^^merely speculating

But I can assure you, if that was the case-the Satanists could find that's the increase of visitors at the moment-is minute to the increase of visitors within the year.

Its a creepy place. I imagine a pretty dark history for it, but really who knows?

Okay...and I suppose you can file my request under "really stupid questions" ....exactly why is this place named "devil's turnaround"? Despite the apparently consistant and awesome experiences of those who have hunted there, I don't understand the name (other than it sounds really scary and enhances the urban mythology of it). What is the history of this place that makes it so active? What I read above about the abhorance to religious items spiking activity is interesting though (if true).
Not really interested in directions though, as I know of no one who would go, but if I knew I would end up doing something foolish like driving out there myself. I wouldn't mind being part of a formal investigation (just to avoid the over-saturation of so many 2 and 3 person "trips" out there) where everything is well planned, and definite goals and parameters are set to test and measure activity (if and when present).
