There is a small Civil War era Confederate cemetary located in a small clearing down a trail, just off the southwest corner of the Oxford College campus. When I attended Oxford College in the 70's, I heard stories of malevalant ghosts inhabiting this cemetary and that it should be avoided. According to Civil War history, a small cavalry skrimish occurred here, when a Confederate cavalry raid heading for the Covington, GA. railroad depot, ran into a Union cavalry patrol during the Atlanta Campaign. There are both Confederate and Union troopers buried in this cemetary with a tall white marble monument in the center of the cemetary. I have been to this cemetary many times at midnight and during very early morning hours and have never experienced any paranormal activity. While attending a college reunion, I went back to this cemetary at midnight with several friends in April 1992. We experienced no paranormal activity. Has anyone ever been to this small Civil War cemetary and experienced any paranormal activity in the area? _________________ from GrayGhost

Not that I am an expert, but from what I have seen most of my activity has been right at dusk or dawn. Right after sundown or before sunup. The later it got the quieter things were.

A lot of my experiences are at dusk or eveing.Although I have 3 good encounters in broad daylight. One near my home, one at cades cove in Gatlinburg Tennessee, and one at my hubby's family cemetery dating back to his ancestor who came here in 1780 or so.
So things can happen in daylight but I myself have better luck at night _________________ Heidi

Ghost hunting is a potentially hazardous activity due to numerous environmental variables. Outdoor ghost hunts typically take place in dark areas such as cemeteries and old buildings which may contain unseen hazards that pose risk of bodily harm, damage to property or even death. We do not recommend anyone venture into an unfamiliar area without first surveying potential hazards during daylight hours.
