Hi everyone. I just located this board and registered this morning. I guess I should tell you all a little bit about me. I recently relocated to Waleska from over in Alabama. I was involved in a small group there and have been on a few investigations. I became seriously involved in the paranormal after a trip to Gettysburg a few years ago, where I witnessed my first full figure apparition of a soldier. I am what some would call a skepical believer. i do belive in ghosts, but I do not believe that all the orbs in digital photos are spirits. I have enough technical background to understand pixelization of digital imaging. I prefer 35mm and will be setting up a darkroom in the near future for processing my own b&w. I am also working on a temperture logging system with a laptop interface. Not my design, but one found on the web. It is suppose to be able to be expanded for a grid pattern. Should be interesting to observe that in operation. I hope to be getting involved in some investigations, soon.

Thanks for the welcome, Heidi. As for investigations that I have been on, they are really too few to suit me. Our group in Alabama has investigated a couple of cemeteries, a private residence, a local TV station and an old abandoned church. I have a few pictures, EVP's and a video that I will put on a small web site soon. When it's up and running, I'll post the link for y'all to visit.
i hope to be able to do some investigating here, soon. I moved here in January and got married. I am finally about to get settled in to a routine. I have heard of a house in Woodstock that is supposed to be haunted. I will continue checking it out and see if it really appears to be so. I also took a picture in the basement of a local church during a Cub Scout event. It shows a moving orb. It was taken with a 35mm camera. I will scan it and put it on the site, too.

Welcome! I think you'll find many members like yourself here. Skeptics firstly (as should be) but with an eye out for things that are unexplained:-) Look forward to seeing your pics. I prefer regular film as well but the digital seems to be less costly - now, once you set up that darkroom...
There's nothing better than seeing your own images come to light under the red hue:-)

Welcome Ron (GPI)
Here is a tip - when you set up your darkroom, why not build a "hybrid darkroom" that takes advantage of both film AND digital technology? Invest in a scanner that handles negatives (AKA a slide scanner). These are scanners that include a backlight attachment to illuminate the slide or negative, and they do extremely high resolution scans and invert the image for printing. Several companies manufacture slide scanners, including Minolta and HP.
This approach (1) saves you the cost in chemicals, photo paper and processing time for your prints, and (2) means that you have all your images already scanned in the computer and can selectively print on your inkjet only the ones that interest you. So you have truly the best of both worlds - digital photos AND negatives to back it up!
To boot, with this approach you don't even need a "darkroom" or enlarger - just a developing tank for your B&W film, developer, stop bath and a clothes line and clothespins to dry your film.
Sorry if you were already considering this and I'm only reiterating what you had thought of already! I'd considered doing this very thing several years ago before I decided to make the jump to 100% digital photography.
But to anyone who still prefers film, a set up like this could save you a lot of time and money over the long run if you have the ambition to set up your own film lab.
Best of luck! _________________ Patrick Burns

very well said,Jody.
You will enjoy this forum, its very well put together and maintained. Patrick has a superb group here and I am excited to have found a group so welcoming and meeting folks with similiar interests.
I plan on being here for a long time. And this is THE group for me.
I know from hearing others speak on the net,its hard to find a genuine club with a sincere director, they must be few and far between. I have also made a lot of friends here which is hard to sometimes find, especially where paranormal is concerned.
I also look forward to seeing some of your pics!! _________________ Heidi
