Hello Hounds...
I normally don't do this, but its crunch time, and for the first time ever, our server is in danger of going "dark"
Our server costs per month amount to $104.97. I try to supplement and offset our hosting costs by featuring banner ads on the site. Unfortunately Google AdSense (our ad host) does not pay consistently each month. So there are times when we hit a financial short fall. This is one of those times.
In the past, I have typically absorbed the remaining balance of our hosting fees myself. However this month I am finding myself in a bit of a cash crunch, and simply do not have the available funds to pay our hosting costs for the month.
Those of you that have been around the site for a while will attest - I normally do not put out a plea for donations. I believe this site should be free to all, and that donations be purely voluntary. This policy shall remain in effect.
Its just that for the first time ever, the server is in jeopardy of being taken off line.
I'm presently exploring other options to help us pay our server hosting fees, including offering shared web hosting for other paranormal groups, and allowing others to take advantage of our streaming Flash Media server.
Until that time, I'm putting out a desperate plea for those of you who have the financial means to make a hosting donation in the amount of your choice. Any amount no matter how little helps!

Note - all transactions are handled by Paypal and are secure.
I don't think $95 is a horrendous goal for us to reach, and its my hope we'll reach that goal quickly within a few days.
Again my apologies for "begging" LOL! You know I wouldn't if the situation wasn't dire.

WOW!!!
Thanks folks! We've exceeded our September goal by $135! THANK YOU! That takes care of October as well, and puts us in good shape for November too.
The Ghost Hounds RULE! You went above and beyond the call of duty and I love each and every one of you! Things have been tight for me the past couple months. Again I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't THAT desperate. Things are definately starting to look up though!

You are so welcome Patrick! I know I am new to this group, but I can already tell how hard you work to keep the group going. I can also tell this is a close knit group of people! I'm so thankful to have been introduced to GhostHounds. I'm also glad that the site isn't going anywhere!
Another hello, and an offer of generous help with hosting and any possible technical difficulties you might have with this site. I am very experienced with nuke sites. I have been tech supporting. installing, modifying, developing minor things for them, and maintaining them them since 2001.
Patrick, sir, with all respect: There are much cheaper hosts out there that have capabilities of running a site like this for as little as $7.50 /month. I own and run www.nepanights.com
If the need is that desperate I have both a suggestion, and an offer for you and the seemingly cool people on this site.
1. I can suggest MUCH cheaper hosts that have outstanding capabilities.
2. I can host the site on my server. For free. My hosting is paid up for just short of a year from now. I'd hope you would take advantage of this offer and allow me to help you build this community.
No B.S., no catch. I just, honestly, love helping where I can. Especially enjoy helping if it's someone who is passionate about the same things I am.
I'm very passionate, as well as experienced, with paranormal phenomenon. I have had a very strong talent (if you want to call it that) for being able to communicate with shadows/spirits nearly all of my life.
I'm here because I have finally decided to come out of the closet in public with my abilities, due to them seemingly being more acceptable now than they were 20 years ago, and utilize them to help communities like this one as well as help people that don't understand the paranormal. Or help investigate and educate people on what they think is paranormal activity which in reality is nothing paranormal at all.
I anticipate your reply, some hello's in return, and interacting with the rest of the community here at Ghost Hounds!

I know there are other hosts out there for much cheaper, but we stream live events off this server from time to time, and that means it has to be OUR server since we're using all the bandwidth on it, and needing to install applications. Even a "virtual" dedicated server doesn't really work as we have to share system resources with up to 20 other sites on one of those.
So I intend to keep the dedicated server, but will probably tap your knowledge of PHPNuke for some other developments I'd like to implement, and when I have questions regarding the CMS.

Ah...I see. I did not know you streamed live events on here. You're right in that case, a dedicated server is your best option. I'm looking forward to helping/working with you.
