Media galleries - working??

Hey Hounds...

I know the media galleries here on the site have been out of commission since the last server reformat this past spring. Its been one of a million and one things have had to put on the back burner during my extensive travels this past summer. I've looked into it several times but always paused in frustration at not being able to figure out what was the problem.

Well, I think I may have found out what was going on! Users were reporting an error saying "unsupported file type" when they would try to upload any to the media galleries. I adjusted some settings on the web server and just tested it out a few minutes ago. I was able to upload an image file without any problems. I have reluctantly got my fingers crossed that I may have finally nipped it in the bud.

However, since my account has administrator privileges, the website may simply be patronizing me since my permissions allow me to do anything here. What I need is for a few of you Hounds to try uploading some images, video clips and/or EVP's and report the results.

We received your Media submission. Thanks!
We will check your Media soon

I just tried to post a jpg photo and I also got:

"Media Submitted, thanks for posting" so depending on how long it takes to show up I think it's working.

OK...

Denisee and Blackdoves images didnt work (EVP seems to be working fine!) However Cbrecks photos DID work!

Unfortunately the program that generates thumbnail images is not working, but I'm working on that!

Lets try it one more time with a few image files please. Thanks everyone! Very Happy

Just tried to submit another jpg photo in the Orbs section, and got this again. I've looked in the photos section afterwards and didn't see anything new in my section.

I don't even see any links to media. I'll look again...
Nope! I don't even see links for them. And I've attempted to write the URLs that would lead to photo galleries and other media galleries that I know of that you might be using here with no luck.

Which ones are you using? I might be able to advise you on how to get them going, which ones are best, where to find them and so on.

I'd be more then happy to give you links and advice, or even repair the issues you're having if you'd be kind enough to accept my help. I'm glad to give it...

Please be patient. Patrick is working on restoring all the areas to the site. It just takes time.

He has some really great ideas that he is going to put up that he is working on right now.
