Hey guys! long time no talkie...
Just wondering what everyone thought about the Ovilus? Has anyone used it on an investigation yet?
I see GG has endorsed it on Digital Dowsing's site - and that has grabbed my attention. _________________ -Beach

| I saw it used on Paranormal State tonight and it was interesting. It looked like to get the voice, certain things were weighted and then triangulated and given a word based on this, and the results were immediate... how much are they and where is it being demonstrated ..Bimmy |

Hey, it is gone... The guys that make it probably read all these posts and see that we are waiting for the next one and removed it.
I wonder why they have this disclaimer on the site:

Production is very limited at this time, You must fill out and return the
Disclaimer / Purchase agreement before the Item will be shipped to you.
The Agreement will be emailed after you have completed your purchase from the site. |

Hi Beach,
You might be right. The voice box add on they offer now is new since the Ovilus 1.5 was removed. Maybe that has something to do with it?
I think the disclaimer/agreement you need to sign has something to do with how the Ovilus isn't a guaranteed scientific instrument and may not produce accurate results, etc. etc. I don't know if I'd want to fork out $200 though before I had a look at what it said. Seems a bit fishy to me... |

I agree with meashman...at least until I get to see it in action a few times. I haven't as of yet.
It just seems too perfect, and how would we know it is accurate? What or who could we check it against?
Those of you who have seen it in action, please add your views here. How did it respond that made you think it was a good tool or a mediochre or bad one? |

| Beach, I wondered about that disclaimer too. I think it is because they are made per order and they are not just sitting around in a warehouse. However, that disclaimer alone may be a turn off to some thus the reason it is in limited production. The K2 started flying off the "shelves" when it was endorsed as the hot new tool. |

Can you say litigation???
In a nutshell, Mr. Chappell does rightfully harbor concerns that these devices could, due to more unsavory types, lead to the outside potential for possible litigation.
I have spoken face to face with Mr. Chappell who stated that word had reached him that more than one person with his devices, both the Puck and the Ovilus, have been charging for private sessions. This almost brought the marketing of these devices to a standstill until he had the chance to actually meet with potential users.
That is why there are the ‘FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY’ labels plastered to the devices as well as the additional user agreements to sign. I do not fault Mr. Chappell for these measures nor would you if the shoe was reversed.
As for the Ovilus, I have seen it in action and it is way neat! However, until Mr. Chappell ups the memory and inserts a USB connection in the Ovilus’s cute little behind, (which he is working on) I’m strictly a Puck-girl! It’s all in the data and the Puck gives you that in more ways than you can wish for. I can’t wait for the update and all the new goodies coming our way from Digital Dowsing, Inc. Mr. Chappell stated he is adding both humidity and barometric pressure sensors to the Puck. I have had some phenomenal results with the Puck. When the Puck is being manipulated by an entity it is spot on! However, as Mr. Chappell repeats constantly, you must look for contextual responses. Both the Puck and Ovilus will spew out nonsense more often than not. However, looking for the environmental changes coupled with true contextual responses is like hitting pure gold. I’ve seen it myself.
In an effort to keep challenging the Puck, last night I tried a synchronized Puck and EVP recording session. Both my EVP recording software and my Puck are on the same laptop. I set my response time for 10 seconds for the purposes of adhering to EVP response time protocols to give whatever entity wishing to communicate with me a chance to respond by EVP. Normally I have my Puck response time set to 5-seconds. Mr. Chappell pushes the Puck harder than I do and sets his response time to 3-seconds but I needed the additional time to allow for recording EVPs. I did not set threshold or change the default ranges of the Puck. This was a baseline test.
I had some startling results from this test. Unfortunately and due to the turn to a highly personal nature of this session I simply cannot post the significance of this first test. However, and I promise you all, I will be running additional synchronized sessions over the next two weeks and I will send in the results both good and bad.
The Ovilus has portability in its favor. The Puck has far greater scope for the paranormal researcher. IMHO.

I have used it and seen it in action and have to say it is quite impressive but I still have many questions and am wondering if there is a bug since I have many words that repeat very often. _________________ Will Hillard-Aymerich
