I tried searching for this, but with the site still not operating at 100%, I came up with zilch.
One of the regulars in our pet chat room says he has a spirit in the house he and his family just moved into. The spirit is that of a man who previously lived in the house. His wife is still alive, living in a nursing home. The member has told me and others in the room about some of the experiences he and his family has had in the past, like the cats hissing at the spirit, but the dogs acting very friendly, even his service dog. One of the dogs (Jack) will lay on its back as if expecting (or getting) a belly rub. He doesn't have many personal experiences with the spirit, but he said some of the kids do, especially one of his daughters, Angela. I was telling him that they may need to try to lead the spirit to the Light, but I'm not sure exactly how to do that. I was wondering if anyone here knew what to do. I did suggest he talk to the priest/pastor/minister/whatever from the church he attends.

Its really weird you posted this as I'm reading a really great book on this exact subject..
Please reccomend it..
When Ghosts Speak by Mary Ann Winkowski..she's the lady behind the idea for Ghost Whisperer..
In this book she talks about her start in life and towards the middle and end she gives great tips as to why spirits remain earthbound and she gives helpful advice to enable you to help them into the light.
As a Medium myself I've had occasions where a spirit wont move on no matter what I do..this book as armed me with some tips I've not tried b4..
My feelings on this case in point are as folllows...
I strongly feel that the bonds of love are keeping this man in the house..it may have been a previous promise or the wife begging the man not to leave her at the point of his passing that he remains there waiting for her.
Also please ask him if the wife is poorly at this time?
The gentleman may have come over to help her cross or sensed her spirit ready to cross and simply got lost..or decided to stay put hoping she would find her way home...
Maybe he could go visit the lady at the home and silently invite the man to ride along and they can be reunited?
That all said it does not help the family in question..please tell him to ask the family to remember that this man is trapped and confused and their fear and enegy generated from that are feeding his energy causing him to resort to showy guestures to say HELLO I'M HERE....!
What they can do is send out love and light and visualise a white light in the corner of the room...ask the mans loved ones and your/thier guides to come in and gently explain the situation that he must go into the light and his guides will explain where his wife is...or a littlel white lie...if you go into that light your wife is waiting...will do the trick...once over he will be helped by loved ones who will be waiting..
But I rather like the idea of taking the poor man to his wife and let him see her and then invite him to cross over and wait for her...
Star crossed lovers reunited..but thats just me...an incurable romantic!

OMG. Athena I was going to post the same book, My friend sent it to me as well...Good book and does go into some detail about that. I won't reiterate it all, just thought it was funny. Best wishes to your friend PRG...but if they don't want to go into the light they won't . I was getting ready to post nearly the same thing as Athena, however, not the idea of him riding along in the car to see his wife.

That was my first thought, that Thene had, (as a nurse thinks), Maybe they made a promise to each other that whoever went first, they would come help the last to go,make the transition! As well as that great book, maybe the man forgot where his wife is, physically, and just needs to be reminded, so he can go and find her. The last place he saw her must have been
in thier house, and as she is not there now, he is waiting for someone to help him find her!
Give him the name of the place and he should be able to locates her from there. sometimes the momories we take with us get jumbled up, and he just needs directions.. like any man, not thinking to ask for directions. No, sarcasm intended! Bimmy

Rancher gave me a bit more updated info on the occurrences in chat. I didn't save the transcripts since last time, but I can pretty much give some information.
I had suggested that he call the man's kids (who sold the house to him) and ask about possibly bringing her to the house to talk to him, maybe help him cross over. I had suggested that maybe he was lingering because he was waiting for her, and they would go together. He told me that a few nights ago he had another sensation of feeling what the spirits do, of being confused or lost, but it was someone else he felt, not the man. I suggested it might have been the wife after all.
When he called the man's children, they were a bit freaked out about the incidents, and stated that she had recently passed away.
Then while we were in chat the other night, he went to get something to snack on (we were talking about healthy snacks), and I had "moofed" (got disconnected from the chat server). When he went back into the computer room, he said he had an overwhelming feeling of peace and love. He figured they had met up, but are both still in the house. _________________ PRG

That is such a wonderful thought!
If they were happy there, and it sounds as if they were, maybe they were reliving memories and once that is done, they can move on! Love is one of the strongest emotions, and in its purist form, can I believe, trancend
life, it is truly the one thing you can take with you. It sounds like they are going to spread that love around a bit in the house, and that has to be a good feeling,as well as a testament that true love, survives even death.Bimmy
