OK Hounds...

Those of you new comers (and old) who went thru the trouble of getting your background checks done have waited (patiently) long enough!

I had hoped to do a media piece this past Wednesday night showcasing our new Hounds and take them on a "training run" with the media present. Unfortunately it fell thru. We had also hoped to do another event this Tuesday, but the reporter who was doing the story had to take another assignment that night.

So... we're gonna do it with or WITHOUT them! Smile

I'd like to meet in downtown Lawrenceville on Tuesday, October 23'rd at 7:00 PM in the old Court House square. There I'll address everyone on how we conduct investigations and go over some of the gear we work with. Also how we apply that gear to our investigations.

Attendance is not mandatory. Especially those of you that have been investigating with us for some time already. This is mostly intended as "boot camp" for the new comers and will prep them to participate on upcoming investigations later. Of course, anyone who has provided their background check is welcome to attend! Smile

For the newcomers that cant make it this coming Tuesday, I apologize. I'll plan a "make up" date in the coming weeks. Note it will HAVE to be on a week night. I am quite honestly on the road at events EVERY WEEKEND until the 2'nd weekend in December! No kidding!

Since I'm presenting at UnivCon this weekend and quite busy, I'd ask that someone post directions to downtown, as well as pointing out the parking areas.

Again my apologies and THANKS for your patience to those of you who had to wait for so long for this opportunity! Good things DO come to those who wait, and I'm very much looking forward to working with all of you in the months and years to come! Smile

Bring your "toys" (geek speak for ghost hunting equipment) and especially your QUESTIONS!

Hope to see many of you Tuesday night! Dance

Someone asked for directions?

Here's a link to a map to downtown Lawrenceville, as well as a map showing the downtown area with parking areas shown. The parking lots are free as opposed to the meters. We'll be meeting in the courthouse square (on the diagram, that's the large building in the center. As a frame of reference, the lower one-way street on the detailed diagram is 120 east-bound, the one-way coming north on 20 is the one-way street to the right of the courthouse. The white blocks with the small blue circle (that's supposed to be a P for parking) are the parking lots. http://www.visitlawrenceville.com/Directions.htm

See y'all there!

Alright so this is what I've been waiting for! As far as toys go all I have right now is a digital camera. Embarassed Embarassed I have most of the other equipment on my christmas list for various family and friends to get me. Is that ok? I feel so ill prepared but I am eager to start learning everything I can. Do I need to try to pick up another piece or two of equipment before I go?

No Juon, a digital camera is fine to start. Keep in mind, both Hans Holzer and William Roll conducted most of their investigations using only a cassette recorder and their brains--which is the most important thing to bring (along with a flashlight of course).

See y'all next week (and zombiedigger, tell us how the hunt went last Tuesday, will you?).

I hope you'll be okay for the hunt Tuesday. Laughing No more time traveling for you.

Now a question about equipment. For our cameras, do we need to cover the flash with red saran wrap (or something similar) so it's easier on the eyes? And should we do the same with our flashlights?

Change of plans. Crying or Very sad I won't be able to make. I need to help the husband finish the remodeling/ new addition project we've been working on since April. We're trying to finish it up this week so we can get a CO and move into the new garage and new room. I hope to make it to the make up date Patrick. You guys have fun and I can't wait to hear about it.

Hi, I am a new member to the web site and I am really interested in joining the ghost investigation field. I have been interested in the paranormal for quite some time and would love to initiate the steps in possibly joining the Ghost Hounds group. What would I need to do? Is the meeting in Lawrenceville on the 23rd open to the curious who have not had a background check?

Thanks!

I'm sorry to say I won't be able to make the hunt... Crying or Very sad Work is crazy, plus with Samhain coming up, I've been very wacked out... Not had a good week, and I'm sure it's not going to get better. I'm going to go crazy before it's over... But you guys know that about me anyway, right GM? Very Happy I don't think you'd enjoy having me there, cuz I'd be too distracted to learn much, and I'd probably attract too much attention from our friendly little paranormal world... Yikes!

I would really like to request a make-up date for a Thursday night, if at all possible. I work during the week, but not Thurs afternoon or Friday, so it would be much easier for me to work it out to get up there on a Thurs... Just askin... Thanks for the opportunity, GG. Wish I could be there. Y'all have fun without me, and scare up some ghosts while you're there... Laughing

needless to say I dont think we will need our Proton Packs since the chance encounter with "negatively charged ectoplasmic entities" will be low, but staypuff has been sighted.

I was actually wondering the same thing b/c the weather down here on the southside (ptc) isn't looking very good. it's raining right now. arghh! as much as I don't want to (b/c I was really excited), i'm probably going to have to wait for the "make-up" session b/c I know how horrendous traffic can be on a normal day, but especially when it's raining Sad . have fun if you guys still go, & I definitely hope I can make it to the next session (I vote for thursdays too if it matters Very Happy ).
