Two nights in a row, I have woken to the feeling of getting smacked on the forehead. My wife has stayed up reading the last HP book and I figured she was smacking me for snoring. The first night, I got mad, but just rolled over.
Then the next night happened. Smack right in the same spot. Not really more than one small pat, but enough to wake me up and say "What the hell?!?!" to my wife. I woke up this morning and decided to let her sleep in. After she woke, I confronted her about it. "If I'm need to smack you for snoring, believe me, you'll feel it" was her response.
Tonight, the DVR is going to turned on and see if I find anything. |

Hi and Gman2000,
I had something similar happen a few weeks ago. It kind of felt like a big whoosh of air slapped me in the forehead while I was trying to fall asleep. It was pretty unnerving at the time, but since it only happened once I figured it was some OBE mishap or something. Let us know if you catch anything on the dvr! |

Just a thought here, but the forehead is the focal point of the "third eye" chakra, the area of the self directly corresponding to clairvoyance and intuition. Consider the possibility that the said smackin' didn't come from any outside influence. Perhaps something was trying to wake you up in an entirely different way. _________________ Bruce W. Burns

Gman I had the same "being hit" also but for me Im sure it was my wife giving me "love taps" because I too snore (funny it doesnt seem to bother me). Or my 15 month old kiddo learning about physics the easy way (which includes bouncing objects off daddys head while he sleeps).
But also if you have animals (we are down to one cat now - from 2 dogs and 2 cats) cats mainly, some seem to have fond likes of sleeping or running across our sleeping forms. Mainly if you have the AC on, they like to stay warm by sleeping on us.
Hope your DVR shows something more fruitful than my encounters of head thumping. |

| You know, I started listening to the playback and a set of batteries died on me. So then I got some rechargeables straight from the charger...they died on me too. Waiting for the batteries to recharge. |

| So we finally got our batteries to work and Gman was listening to the playback. We really didn't hear anything except there are a couple of spots where it sounds like someone is clapping. We have no idea where it came from, the TV was off and the only other "person" in our bedroom is our Ferret, Nook. He's going to have to upload it somehow so everyone can hear it. It is REALLLY loud, like the clapping was done right on the mic. |

maybe your ferret was appauling you and your husbands sleeping style.
-on a side note, my good friends ferret Kopa died last week, he was such a fun guy, he stole my talking yoda once, was too funny. _________________ If your not behind our Troops, please feel free to stand infront of them.

Ok, nothing really out of the ordinary. The only thing I did get was what sounds like a clap in the middle of the night. Pretty loud too. Tried to upload it, but board won't let me |

Gman! So are you saying that something is slapping you upside your head during the night and it ISNT your wife? It sounds funny, but laughing aside, I wonder why you are waking up like that with the feeling of being slapped? I think I might have an answer for you. You said that you snore on occasion. I would bet that you have sleep apnea. That will cause you to wake up with a jerk because your airway closes and causes you to be breathless momentarily,as well as your heart to skip or stop in more severe cases. You may be doing that all night and not remembering, except on the occasion that the jolt really wakes you. I had a severe case when I was pregnant with my first daughter and had to sit up in a chair or against a tower of pillows for the last two months to sleep. It sucked. I suggest you get that checked as it's something you shouldn't ignore. It can cause health problems down the road as well as just plain lack of sleep which no one needs. Don't know what the slapping or clapping noise is though, but I bet you waking with a startle could be attibuted to snoring. |

Hmmm...
It's not video I got, it's audio. I only recorded the night on my DVR. And though I do have sleep apnea, I never had experienced the sensation of a small pat on the forehead right above the brow line...two nights in a row.
It hasn't happened since, but the clap noise could not have come from sleeping. |

| I realize that, I was just responding to your initial post where you were woken with what felt like a tap on the head. You could have woken suddenly, thinking it was from a tap. We don't always realize what wakes us when we wake up suddenly, and it may seem like something else has occurred that really hasn't. Just my 02. Not to burst anyone's bubble but there could be a perfectly logical and more common reason that you felt tapped awake. It's all I'm sayin' ... |

Leave it to me to bring up an old post.
The other day, I heard hangers flipping bashing into each other in the closet. I looked in it and about 12 of them were rocking back and forth for a bit. I said antagonizing remarks to see if I could get it to happen again. Nothing. But later that night, GaGal said that she once again heard giggling.
You know, I don't think my house is haunted. I think it gets...visited. Anyone ever had strange things happen where they live after an investigation or two? |

Ask them to leave? Are you kidding? I want them to hang around and respond to questions! Think of the time and energy I save in just investigating my own home! |

Well, that's one way to look at it. But, trust me, you want them to go eventually . If anything, they'll keep sapping your power and keep you up all night. |
