strange EVP experience, what happened to me?

OKay, I'm kinda worried people will think I'm losing my mind when they read this post. To tell the truth I was kinda concerned myself. I really want to be taken serously because I am concerned I may have started something I don't know how to handle, and I really want some answers.

I've been doing EVP on my computer in the bedroom of my house (it was built in 1946) since about February of this year. I decided to try it even though I was skeptical because my daughter has seen an apparition a few times that resembles me. We have seen objects move. We hear old timey music sometimes when there's no tv or radio on. She has felt a hand on her head and shoulder and she was shoved. I felt like a small child had come up behind me and wrapped their arms around my legs. etc...

I have gotten voices. One sounds like a toddler. ONe sounds like an older child. One sounds like a woman, I'm pretty sure it's the same woman every time. She always sounds happy and friendly and sometimes responds to the child's voice, she sings and once a child said, "mama" in a breathless sounding voice, and she said, "Here you go." in a very cheerful tone. And another one sounds like a man who is not so friendly and is sometimes kind of a smart aleck.

So on May 26th I decided to try EVP while my family was going to be out of the house for about an hour. Nice and quiet, no chance of mistaking their noises for EVP...

I got 2 EVPs on about a 15 minute recording. The first one I hadn't asked any questions yet and an unfriendly voice says very loud, something like "Don't you get it?", the second one, I was hearing faint tinny music in my right ear and I asked was that one of them making the music, and when I played it back a man's voice is saying, one, two, three, and then a clapping sound.

Me hearing the music I believe is significant because the last time I had recorded I asked "What's your favorite song?" and didn't get anything back on the recording, but the next time I tired EVP I started hearing music in my right ear... And the next day my CD player came on by itself and started playing the song Vincent (starry starry night) by Don McLean. That's one of my (sensitive) daughter's fave songs. A friend of hers had learned to play it on the piano that week and sent it to her on the computer.

But here's the wierd part that scared me. I asked the question "Who was the lady that talked to me last time." (I had said, "Thank you for talking to me" and she said what sounds like "You're welcome."

I suddenly felt really strange. I felt a presence at my right hand side and then it entered my personal space. That's the best way I can describe it. I all of a sudden felt really slow and heavy and my vision was dimmer. I looked at my hand and knew it was mine but at the same time it wasn't familiar to me. I looked in the mirror and my face seemed unfamiliar. It was kind of like being two different people at the same time. I falt a newness, a sense of novelty. I felt like someone was waiting for me to acknowledge them. A calm presence was waiting. It felt like a female presence. I could sense a different personality than my own. it took a little effort to shake it off. Like I was heavy and didn't have much will of my own.

it was all I could do to say "Thank you" before shutting off the recorder and leaving the room. I went in the kitchen to try and regain my composure and a plate in the bottom of the sink raised about 2 inches and set itself down a bit to the side. I couldn't wait for my family to get home. I was very shaken up. I didn't know what had happened to me. Was I being possessed? Was I losing my mind?

All I expected was EVP. I certainly didn't expect anything like this, and I was not prepared. I feel guilty for shaking it off. I feel like I rejected her (I could tell it was a female, I don't know how, I just know)

I'm really scared to try again and then again in a way I feel like it is a gift and a privelege. I just want to know what happened. Was I having some kind of mental episode in my own mind? Was someone really trying to "show" me who she was instead of answerihg my question verbally? I believe that is the case, but a part of me is really afraid that I am going bonkers. I mean, I still feel like the same person. I haven't been acting any differently and I don't feel any different except I want to know what happened to me and what should I do. I wish I could talk to someone who knows about things like this but I don't know who that would be.

Anyone else have this happen to them? What are the dangers or are there any? You know all the scary movies you see about things like this. That's really what runs thru my head. Being possessed and things like that. It's pretty unnerving to not have any answers.

Oh, I have the EVP I can post links to if it's okay to do that here on this board. I already tried to upoad them here but it doesn't work.

I'm a sensitive and I'll try and help you understand what happened to you.

The spirit of the lady decided to imprint herself onto you. Or attatched herself to your auric field.

You reached out to her and started a communication or in her eyes a freindship and seeing as you were near a mirror she decided to show herself to you via a technique called scrying..or transfiguration.

Thats where the spirit uses the mediums or a persons face to show themselves..

Its a type of physical mediumship. It can and will make you feel really strange as they take energy from you in order to manifest themselves.

And your right, this lady does not mean you any harm but you must ensure that she knows your bounderies ...so next time you experiment with evp you must thank her for showing herself to you but inform her that she must resepect your personal space and step back as it makes you feel uncomfortable at the moment..

You see they exist in a faster energy than us...and sometimes they get stuck...and dont realise they have to cross over. So imagine their glee after being ignored and not heard for so many years someone from their previous plane reaches out and actually hears them.and starts to interact with them ,,,

I do reccomend you learn how to Ground and Protect yourself when doing EVP recording or communication with spirit..Its quite simple...take a deep breath and relax and then imagine your feet are the the roots of a tree...going deep into the earth..thats your grounding,,then continue to breath and imagine a bright white light filling your body from head to toe,,,say to yourself...

I ask you to come forward in love and light and that the light protect me from those who wish me harm...

Once done..raise up your roots and thank them and let the light seep out of you and send it out as healing to those who need it.

The man you heard seems to be a little bit of a trouble maker. ie shoving! (not malicious just a bit bitter) .I feel the lady will keep him under control as she is drawn to you..she has a very maternal energy ...she just got a bit carried away !

You have a strong ability (or are very sensitive) so may I suggest you attend a spirtual church or meetings to learn how to control it, they will also help you in your questions and also give advice.

So in a nut shell, you opened the door and left it adjar..thats why you got the imprinting and subsequent polterguist activity..thats them saying hello I'm here...and see look what I can do !!

So do me a fave...Ground and Protect and record a thankyou and tell them that you respect them and they in turn should respect you and your space (home) as well.and that you mean them no harm.

I feel the ladies name is Margeret...(likes to be called Maggie, she was drawn to you as you are around the same age and even look a little similar) you could ask her to clarify that when you feel more able to deal with it...but for now just thank them and politly tell them to step back..

So your not going mad..or having a Derek Accorah moment!

You just gota a little in over your head,.and it happens to the best of us..even those trained in such things.

Thanks for answering me so fast.

I looked up info on the house on the property appraisers site. Of course it has no personal info like names and such, but the family who had it built didn't sell it until 31 years later, so it has a long history with that one particular family.

I live right down the road from Cassadaga, the spiritualist community but have never been there. I was considering attending their church and seeing if I could talk to someone there about what happened.

I feel she is staying around out of a feeling of responsibility towards the ones she loves. But then again, that could just be me putting my own personal feelings off on her. I have 3 children and love them more than life itself, so it's kind of hard to know if it's my own feelings or truly hers.

The occurences kind of scare my middle daughter. She's the one that sees her and she's the one that got shoved. I don't want to encourage them further because I don't want my daughter to feel ill at ease in her own home.

I appreciate you telling me about Grounding and Protection. For a few days after it happened I was worried that she would just "come in" without my permission. I didn't really thnk she would because I didn't get that kind of feeling from her. She feels like a considerate and polite person. For a few days afterwards, I don't know if it was my imagination, but I felt at times there was a presence at my right hand side waiting.

I didn't feel anything bad from her, it's just that the feeling I got was so unfamilar and strange, and I was afraid because I didn't know what was happening and I didn't feel in control.

My daughter told me not to mess with EVP. She said she didn't think it was right unless a person was willing to try and help them and if you don't know how to help them you should just leave them alone...

I feel bad, maybe I got her hopes up, and then I abandoned her. I will practice Grounding and Protecting and when I feel more ready I will try one more time and thank them and explain that I didn't intend to reject her and I respect them and need them to respect my personal boundaries as well.

It scared me but it amazed and thrilled me too. I feel blessed and thankful really. This whole experience has renewed and strengthened my faith, that we don't just end when our bodies die.

Wow, what an interesting story. That's why I choose not to do EVP work in my own home. If they're here, I prefer not to know! Very Happy

You know, you can go to the clerk and recorder's office in your county and do a chain of title search on the property. It would be interesting to know if Margaret or Maggie was the name of the woman who used to own the property!

Martie, your most welcome and anytime you need help just let me know. Glad your feeling better about the situation..you dont need to use the evp machine to tell her just say it aloud when your on your own if shes about she'll hear you.

I love the pic of your dog.looks a real cutie.

Reminds me very much of my Belgium Shepherd whos been passed over 6 years now..

I'd love another one but its convincing my parents to take another dog on as I work shifts!! lol

Do you know of any good sources of info on the internet for learning more about protection and grounding, or about developing psychic/medium abilities, that kind of thing?

Thanks. That's Mahala. She's a long coat German Shepherd but she always has sort of reminded me of a Belgian Shepherd. She's a sweetheart and a half.

Hiya Martie.

There are hundreds of websites out there that can help you to G and P..just as there are hundreds of books on psychic development.

I'll Pm you a website I know that should be able to give you more info.

The important thing to remember is to use a G and P technique that feels right for you and that you can adapt it to suit any situation you find yourself in. There are no hard and fast rules to follow just ask for the light and your guides to protect you and you should be fine..
