Okay, I was reading about these 'Black Eyed Kids' on another forum and am now really, really, REALLY creeped out (and I don't scare too easily). Has anyone (or does anyone know someone who has) experienced this? I am only linking the wiki definition page and one story but there are alot of similar stories on other paranormal websites. Today is my first time hearing of this.

If you think or know that the stories are in fact real, what do you think they (the kids) actually are? 'eh?

The stories do kind of remind me of that old guy from Poltergeist though Laughing

I have heard the stories and find them fascinating, but have yet to meet anyone who has experienced the phenomena itself.

I tend to lean towards them being a demonic creature. The children in all of the stories that I have read are pale skinned (sometimes described with an olive tone), black haired, typically described as between the ages of 11-18, and possessing some sort of powers of suggestions. It is rare to find stories relating to them whether they are older than a typical teenager or younger than the lower end of the scale.

One of the interesting things is that in a lot of the stories where there are two children, they are normally asking for help (trying to lure?) from an adult, and are described as one being slightly older/bigger than the other (teacher or mentor possibly). They are normally at the lower end of the age scale to the point that they are young enough to get sympathy from an adult, but not young enough for it to be unbelievable that they would be out by themselves. Their request will normally be made by the younger/smaller of the two. It will be something along the lines of needing a ride someplace or needing to make a phone call, and will be come more and more insistent that their request needs to be fulfilled to the point of becoming angry.

If the story only has a single child then the child is normally an aggressive (hunting?) sort, and typically described as an older teenager. They usually have an almost visible barrier of sorts around them (as in people will avoid them without actually knowing why they are avoiding them). They are typically calmer/trickier than the younger versions. They will usually have a legitimate reason for you to invite them in to a place (the story that stands out the most in my mind is of the real-estate agent who had one of the creatures ask to see a property that was for rent).

One thought on this is that as the young version of the creature is responsible for training a younger version before they can move on to being a hunter, or possibly simply training the next generation as replacements.

The majority of the stories involve the victim being required to invite the BEKs in to someplace (house, car, etc.), which has led to them being compared to vampires. My problem with that theory is the lack of stories containing adult versions of the BEKs. In almost all stories as well the victims report an uneasiness when first meeting the children, and later after noticing the eyes they report the need to flee immediately or the feeling of impending death. I have yet to read anything where a victim has had a second encounter with a BEK.

Have there been any reports on what happens if they ARE invited in on what happens to the person who allows them in?

This is really interesting.

I'm not clear on why the victim would be required to invite them into a car or house? My guess is that it's fictional, though sounds intriguing anyway.

Kristin: there's no definite information of why these supposed kids would ask for access like that. Many legends of vampires state that they cannot enter your home to cause harm without being given permission first.

This whole thing sounds a little too far out there, IMHO.[/i]

Nope, the thought is that anyone who has gone with them has been reported as missing by someone or found dead. No real way of knowing though.

How would the people reporting them missing or finding them dead, know that they had interaction with one of these "creatures"?

Black eyed Kids are fictional, kinda like snipe hunting with the new kids at boy scout summer camp. I think I still have a bag of tin foil balls and flash lites ready. It only gets dangerous when you invite girl scouts from over the mountain for a hunt.

That's one of the problems investigating this story....they wouldn't know. Unless the creature has a specific calling card (like vampires leave fang marks after draining victims or how demons may leave a sulphur residue) we may never know Sad
