I can tell you guys the location but I'm not sure if posting it here is a good idea? Maybe PM me and I'll send it to you?

Thanks so much for keeping this out of the public forums. Never mind ethical, I don't want to set us up for a potential defamation lawsuit!

One of our more popular guests at GhoStock told us they recently had a falling out with this very location. Was sent a very nasty, inflammatory email. They went on to say they would be unable to continue to participate in GhoStock if we continued to worked with this place. Suffice it to say, after hearing this report from Helen and this new letter from one of our most respected guests, we will NOT include this location in future events It will also be removed from our "Haunted Savannah" map that is included in the GhoStock program.
So sad that any place in Savannah should feel compelled to hoax stuff, as active as it is. Especially one of their most famous haunted landmarks. They have treated us well in the past and been very accommodating to us, and yes - I believe the location is very active. However we can not condone or continue to promote a location that resorts to this sort of practice, and if its "one or the other" regarding our guest, we'll take the latter, thank you very much!
Looks like things have taken a turn for the worse at this place since the new ownership rolled in. _________________ Patrick Burns

Very unfortunate indeed.....
There is activity there....The problem being that there were so many people inside the place at that time....It was fun to see the place and hear the experiences that some had had.....But the staging really hurts the place for future validations....
Sad, very sad.....
One thing I think that needed to be understood was that there was unlikely to be a whole lot of activity with so many people around at the time......
In fact I felt nothing but a jumble of energy in the hottest area of the place, until there was only the 2 of us there.....Then there was obvious activity but it took other energies leaving the area before it tried to manifest.....
Unfortunate that they were so desperate to please a few that they managed to alienate many and discounted the place as a future site for GS.....

I'm afraid we might start seeing more and more of this, Fay, as owners and managers start to realize the potential publicity of having an "active" location. It's one of the things we try to pay a lot of attention to, especially in locations that particularly WANT to be investigated around Halloween. I can think of at least two local places that we've been more cautious about, since they have an incentive to portray themselves as more active than they really are, for the publicity.
As for this particular location, I hope they're not indicative of a trend in Savannah for business owners to try to capitalize on their reputations in a hope of increasing revenues, but I'm afraid they won't be the only one. As with anything else, it's imperative that we as investigators have our eyes wide open and not be afraid to stand by our reputations.

I'm sorry everyone that this happened and turned out this way. I just want to say it was a travesty when it happened and that this particular place did not need that type of thing to get business. We had to totally throw out ALL the evidence we collected that evening and we won't be going back as a team for any investigations in the future. I appreciate all the support I am getting and I hope if this happens to any other teams in the future you guys would keep me informed too. We need to support each other and if we don't know we can only guess. Now I have heard of this happening but when it happens in front of you it can be very disheartening. _________________ Helen |

What really sucks is that Friday of GS3 at this place was SO MUCH FUN, and now we can't go back. _________________ ---Sharon Mooney

I'm sure we can find another place to host us that would be just as fun!
I say we just all continue to boycott this place and as word gets around that groups will start avoiding those places for that reason, hopefully, people will think twice before trying it at their own location. _________________ Debi

Another place that might go for it and would be fun is the Oyster Bar on River street.....
The people were very nice and we were informed of upstairs activity when we went to dinner there wearing our tshirts....
Plus they have a nice atmosphere and good food!
I also hope its not indicative of future problems with places in Savannah...Salem really became touristy surrounding the witch trials and has lost its true energy in obvious places due to the monitary side of things....So you really have to look to find that previous draw.....
It used to be that hauntings were a secret and something that people hid because of the stigma surrounding it....Now with the media frenzy and new television interest it has become a tourist trap of sorts.....
Ahh well....

Fay, You bring up a great point. I've really noticed how the paranormal has started to become more mainstream. You're right, TV shows like Supernatural, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Whisperer, etc. has really begun to shed more light on the paranormal. Whether it's ghost hunting or not, I've noticed that people are becoming more open to it. I know that last year when I posted about the paranormal in my blog, not many people were willing to respond to it. When I posted about it this year, several people are responding well. A lady who's mother passed away 3-4 months ago says that she is seeing shadows in her home where her mom passed. She asked me if this was one of the shadow people or could it be her mother. _________________ "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" - Les Brown |

But as it gets more mainstream, unfortunately, more places will begin to stage stuff.... Makes it kinda sad, and tough to determine the genuinly haunted places. _________________ Guess what! I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!!

Yep like anything else it can be a double edged sword.....
Luckily there is enough out there that does not need staging and those places are generally only known about seriously by people who are interested in the genuine article and not a haunted house for halloween fun only.....plus in all honesty in my experience paranormal activity is not nearly as glamorous as it is portrayed in media......So people lose interest quickly....Not only that I think real activity frightens people it is happening to at times so they are not going to be outwardly advertising the activity but will be interested in obtaining proof of the activity and perhaps an explanation so they will be more inclined to ask for an investigation rather than publicity.....
