"I have been to the Whaley house three times, and upon my last visit a few years ago while I was listening to the speaker talk on the tour as I was busily taking pictures. I captured a huge orb in the court room and one upstairs in the bedroom."
"I took some pictures and I captured some orbs in the part used as the court house and the door where Yankie Jim was hung so long and dreadfuly paithful too."
again, just because people have captured pictures of these "orbs" before, does not mean they are ghosts. until you can give a solid reason for why an orb you capture at the whaley house is different from an orb i capture in my bedroom (besides the fact that it was taken in the whaley house), there is no evidence of this being paranormal.
as an aside, i looked at some of the other pictures on the san diego ghost hunters site, and it seems they think any kind of camera flaw is a ghost. _________________ The opinions and ideas stated in the above post by ponyboy do not necessarily reflect the opinions and ideas of the Ghost Hounds organization, it's members, or it's founder. I can tell you that I heard firsthand from an employee at the Whaley House that the orbs there are part of the paranormal activity. I was told that in one instance during an investigation orbs were captured on video following people around as if they had an intelligent source. I think these pictures prove that the orbs are there and in abundance.
being told something by someone doesn't make it true. if i say that i once caught the ghost of elvis riding a mechanical bull on video, does that mean it's true? no, it does not.
if indeed these "orbs" were captured on video there are countless possibilities for what might have caused them. people walking causes currents in the air which would flow in the same direction they were waling. airborne particles could become caught in this air current and follow behind the person. an even more likely explanation for these "orbs" would be bugs. bugs, like gnats and mosquitos are small enough to where they show up like orbs often. they would also be inclined to follow people as they moved (since we are considered to be a tasty snack for a mosquito). without an actual copy of the video footage, it is impossible to say for sure, but personal experiences and stories told to us by other people are not strong enough evidence to prove anything.
am i saying that all orbs are dust or some other non-paranormal activity? no. I am just saying that these look like dust to me. It's nothing personal, and i really urge you to continue investigating places like this. Honestly, if i get orb pictures on an investigation, it is grounds enough for me to do further research in the area. _________________ The opinions and ideas stated in the above post by ponyboy do not necessarily reflect the opinions and ideas of the Ghost Hounds organization, it's members, or it's founder. SNM a very experienced paranormal investigator here in town explained that one way you can test to see if an orb is paranormal is to ask it to perform some sort of action - his suggestion was to ask it to change itself to a different color. I suppose if the thing has any sort of intelligence you could ask it to do any variety of things like: move in a certain direction, get larger or smaller, hit Ponyboy upside the head so he will believe and be quiet (sorry PB, had to get that one in). I, of course don't have a digital so don't have the luxury of seeing the things until I get the film printed. But I trust my 35mm more anyway. Good Luck and Happy Hunting! _________________

You shouldn't be worrying about the paranormal living in Duh-luth. I'm sure all you really care about is driving your SUV at an average speed of 100 mph since you work a thousand miles from where you live, and taking care of your 2.5 kids, like everyone else living the suburban life in Gwinnett County.
Thank you for giving me the answer that I was expecting from you.

It was a joke. A bad one I guess. I always make fun of my cousins in Gwinnett County so don't take it personally. I think we have a lot in common and can be friends hopefully.
Well in my experiences and the tens of thousands of pictures I have taken over the years I have to agree it looks like dust.
However, if you can coorelate something happening at the time the photo was shot then maybe I would be convinced it's paranormal.
Our team doesn't like orbs in photos as there is so many natural reasons for them. Best way to check is throw some dirt or dust in the air and shoot a photo. It has a tendency to be very similar to the photos you submitted.
And as with everything paranormal..there is no right or wrong answers..just speculation. _________________ Helen

I didn't experience anything out of the ordinary when I was there. I think you make some good points. I'm glad to get your insight.

Ghost hunting is a potentially hazardous activity due to numerous environmental variables. Outdoor ghost hunts typically take place in dark areas such as cemeteries and old buildings which may contain unseen hazards that pose risk of bodily harm, damage to property or even death. We do not recommend anyone venture into an unfamiliar area without first surveying potential hazards during daylight hours.
