Richard, I don't know where you live in California, but have you ever investigated Dunsmuir Mansion off of a state highway south of Oakland, CA. This estate has been used extensively in movies and is very haunted. If you are familiar with the Phantasm series of films, Dunsmuir was used in the films Phantasm I, II, lII, and IV as Joshua Morningside's, a.k.a. "the Tall man", Morningside Mortuary and Mausoleum. I really want to take a trip to California and go there. The mansion has a website and gives tours, so it can easily be looked up on the internet to get directions.
I also want to go to the old Ridgewood Ranch, once owned by Charles Howard, the former owner of "Seabiscuit" the famous racehorse from 1936 to 1940. The ranch was once 17,000+ acres but only about 2,500 acres remain of the former great ranch and some of the horse paddocks and stables. Seabiscuit is buried under what today would be a very large oak tree on the ranch near the stables. The ghost of Seabiscuit is said to be roaming around the old stables that still remain near Willits, California, about 150 miles north of San Francisco. In addition, Charles Howard's first son died in a truck accident on the ranch and the boy's ghost is there as well in the old Howard ranch house. _________________ from GrayGhost

I went on the tour and got to check out both upstairs and downstairs. The tour guide went into detail about her personal experiences there with the hauntings. She also knew the history really well. I would reccomend it for anyone interested in the paranormal.

Ghost hunting is a potentially hazardous activity due to numerous environmental variables. Outdoor ghost hunts typically take place in dark areas such as cemeteries and old buildings which may contain unseen hazards that pose risk of bodily harm, damage to property or even death. We do not recommend anyone venture into an unfamiliar area without first surveying potential hazards during daylight hours.
