Tonight's episode was the season finale. From here on out, episodes will be reruns until the new season begins - I'm guessing sometime early next year, as it takes about 3 months of post production before an episode is ready to air, and we probably wont resume filming until September or possibly October.
This episode I think was in many ways one of the most interesting we profiled. Not only is it the oldest case we've done, but the fact that its a "Jane Doe" case for so long is mind boggling. Hard to believe that anyone in today's world can disappear and not be missed, but alas there are sadly a large number of "Jane and John Does" that show up in morgues I'm told.
My gut feeling says there is a very good chance the program may be able to give this young lady a name finally. Hopefully someone will recognize her and identify her, even after so many years. Somewhere, someone misses their daughter or sister; they just didn't look in the right area to find her.
Some other details that didn't make it to air were fluctuations on the thermistors, and some equipment malfunctions near where John was standing. Also, there is a real ghost story that goes with this - her ghost has been reported in the dunes by several people over the years. _________________ Patrick Burns

WOW! That poor girl did not have a chance. This man was a freak and I cannot believe that he could just go on with his life normally after the fact. There had to be some amount of post traumatic stress syndrome associated with his actions and my bet is that he will keep track of any media or investigations about the story even today. He could possibly even get an urge to revisit the sight if he did in fact see the show since John was saying that the ground there is haunted. Maybe the police should keep watch of the area for awhile to see if "The Lady of The Dunes" recieves any visitors.

This was by far the best so far...The idea of regressing th composite to teen years was an excellent idea...Do you know if the forensics people dug up any of the ground that bothered John so much?and to have so much gold dental work and no hits from dentists was strange...probably to late for any inquires to other states or Canada to dentists for info...Very impressed with this one...Good going all. _________________ Your loved ones are not gone...They are just harder to see and hear!!!
This is such a sad case. There had to be someone somewhere that would have been looking for this girl/woman. I realize that technology wasn't very advanced thirty-something years ago. While doing some research about this case I found an interesting website for unidentified people. I was totally amazed at the number of people on this site. Here is the link

Once again, Patrick, you all did a wonder job! Can't want until the next season!

Thank you.
Yes, the doe network is a great resource. Here is the Lady of the Dunes case profile from the doe network...
However it is no where near as extensive a list as the one for unidentified human remains. For cases prior to 1989, there is amazingly enough only 18 cases listed. That boggles my mind - More people then that go missing on a daily basis! That there is not an equally extensive database on the web of missing persons is quite sad. If there WERE, I'm certain the overwhelming majority of these remains would have been identified. The two databases could be run against one another, and details such as sex, height, hair color, location missing from, location found, and other vital stats would produce a large number of possible matches. I just don't get it. _________________ Patrick Burns

Maybe a certain "geek' we all know could suggest this to the powers that be (since this "geek" understands what it takes to combine the two databases and we mere "mortals" do not)!
This sounds like a wonderful idea to be able to cross reference all of this data. There are so many people out there that would love to have answers to the whereabouts of there love ones, even if they are not found alive the closure would probably be helpful.

I agree Patrick but I think you would find a snafu...who would monitor it?...Fed's, state, private...It would seem to have to be either federal or state as they would have the remains...then they would fight over the funding...so sad...I would move heaven and earth if someone dear to me wound up missing... _________________ Your loved ones are not gone...They are just harder to see and hear!!!

Patrick,
Of course I am always left hanging and wondering if any arrests have been made from the clues given the police and families? The murder in south Ga..the one where it looked like it was the school teachers boyfriend. I am "dying" to know if arrests have been the fruit of this kick ass show.
