Wow, Halloween is over and November is upon us. You know what that means.....time to make plans for our November meeting. September and October took us out of our normal geographical rotation, and frankly, I've forgotten what section our next meeting was supposed to be held. Can anyone help me out? Was it the Stockbridge area (I'm thinking that might have been it)
For those of you who've never attended a meeting, they're held the third Saturday of each month, which in November is the 19'th, at 7:00. We have a bit to eat first, aiming for restaurants that don't mind people coming in at different times and with reasonable food, and then do an informal investigation afterwards. It's a great place to meet people and make arrangements for future hunts, as well as comparing results from previous investigations and generally having fun.
Hope we see as big of a turnout as we did in October!

I know initially we had been going in a clock-wise rotation around I-285 We had been doing that for roughly the past year.
I think we've made 2 laps around I-285 now. I don't think we necessarily have to go in a linear rotation around the parameter of Atlanta anymore. We actually broke rotation for August and held it in Athens.
I'm leaning very heavily towards Gainesville for November’s meeting. I know its a haul for many of us - its a good 30 minute drive for Pam and I north on I-985, but since we had the big write up in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Halloween, I'm more than certain there are a few locals up that way that are eager to meet and talk with us - right Kathy?
I highly recommend people carpool for this one, and we'll have 4 seats in the van departing from and to Lawrenceville.
Kathy - can you recommend any locations in Gainesville that are good for an informal dinner where we could hold the meeting? Think inexpensive buffet or pizza, with seating for 15-30 people. Even better if they have a private dining room they would reserve for us, where we aren't competing with other patrons and restaurant noise while trying to talk.
Let us know - thanks! _________________ Patrick Burns

Patrick, I'd like to throw in my 2 cents worth in about where to eat. As far as pizza place, the only one I can think of close by is Pizza Hut on Browns Bridge road. I wouldn't recommend it though, last time my wife was there, she saw a mouse run across the floor. There's plenty of resturants on Browns Bridge and on Dawsonville Hwy. as far as I know, they don't have any private rooms. I would recommend Texas Roadhouse(good and cheap), or Applebee's. There is a Fire on The Mountain, but it's Further down Browns Bridge, too far out of the way I think. _________________ "The Instant Classic"
I am going! I cannot wait to meet everyone. You will all come to find out I am a social butterfuly with a million poor jokes! I am looking to start learning more about the technical side of investigations. I am coming from Cumming...see...bad joke. I have a Mommy Van that sees 7 adults comfy. If you PM me, we can van pool.

Is this meeting on the 19th of Nov? If so, I may or may not be able to make it. That just happens to be the weekend of the exotic/reptile show, and I just bought our VIP tickets today. I missed last years show so I really want to make it to this years. Well, then again we will be in Lawrenceville, so maybe we can just jet up 85/985. Guess we'll have to see what the sitter says Hope to see you all soon.

okay, here it goes again...
no means yes but I say yes so that it sounds like no so the yes can be a no when I really mean it to be a yes, and that way my no will really mean yes even though it sounds like a no -it really is a yes.
or a maybe.
is that clear?!
I'm trying to be there with my wings on. I have learned to expect the unexpected -especially with this group!
...and why is that microphone in my face?!
oh, I remember -I was about to do my rendition of "On the Wings of Love!".
or maybe I'll try, "Take -These Broken Wings."
or Granny's favorite, "On the Wings of Snow White Dove."
oh heck, maybe we should just eat bar-b-que. yeah! but what kind?!
of course, I've got it ------Wings!!

Yep, there are a bunch of people that want to ask questions, not the least of which is ME!
I'm going to make a bizzare suggestion - well, maybe not so bizzare, but more in the form of a 'hey gang, we could put on a play!' ,kinda thing. I'd be willing to not only host a group up here, but will take you and a ghost walk and would be happy to arrange trying to get into Wages house, which is the other house I told you about, if you were willing to postpone Gainesville till December.
I've just sold my house, and was told today that the closing on the old house and new house will be Nov 17. I'll have 2 weeks to move out. According to the current date for the meeting, I'll be in the middle of a move. (9 years worth of stuff - have pity on me!)
Also, if you come in December (assuming you have a December meeting), the girls will be off campus and we could REALLY poke around.

Hey Kathy...
Oh bummer! Yea I can see where that might present a problem; you being in the middle of moving!
As we've discussed, I'm VERY interested in Wages, but we'll have way too many people at the meeting to make an actual investigation practical at that time I'm afraid.
However a ghost walk sounds great! The turnout at the October meeting was amazing, and everyone enjoyed D's tour - it was a big draw for us and for her!
Perhaps we can do the meeting and walk in Gainesville for December, and arrange for another night to do the Wages investigation? PM me and we can work out those details.
OK... back to the drawing board. Gainesville is out for November.
How about the Varsity in Atlanta then? _________________ Patrick Burns

Hey GG, That sounds good to me! As my other half will be working, I may be more likely to swing this one. You could always do a Conyers one if you wanted to. LOL _________________ "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" - Les Brown

Hey there all,
Just wondering if you had ever come 'south' of the perimeter. Newnan is a historic town and we had done their form of a spirit walk. There are a ton of houses here which claim they have activity. One in particular is a good friend who happens to run a catering business out of the home. Maybe I could persuade her into hosting us for dinner then a hunt
Of course we will have to pay for our dinners (she can create a menu based on a fixed price), and I'm sure she would love the opportunity to tell her stories and let someone 'hunt' her ghost!
Let me know if you are interested and I'll set it up!!!
Unsettling Reading,

Christina,
Send me the info, please. I think I'd like to see about holding our next Ladies' Night at your friend's house. If you would, PM it to me, please.

Wow, we have meetings? I am so impressed and I want to come along and get involved. I'm new here so someone key me in on the scoop, please. The Varsity is fine for me but what is there to see around there, spook-wise? Plus it's really noisy and wide open seating. There is one off I65 at Jimmy Carter Blvd that has rooms instrad of a wide open area. Might that work better?

Good point, Spookymama, but we've done a meeting at The Varsity before and found it a good fit. There's a large open room towards the back that even has an extra entrance, and it's noisy and busy enough that 'Hounds coming in at different times don't disturb other patrons. Plus, lots of space for plenty of people .
Okay, it looks like it's official, the November meeting will be at The Varsity in Atlanta on Saturday, November 19 at 7:00 pm. I'll post a link to the map shortly, for those who've never been there before.
As promised, although a few hours late , here's the link to the map for The Varisty: http://tinyurl.com/a5rcj. For those who may not have been there before, I recommend visiting The Varsity's website at www.thevarsity.com to get an idea of what to expect. One thing I can't remember, and couldn't find on their website, is whether they accept any forms of payment at the counter besides cash. So, when in doubt, the best plan is to come prepared with cash (that's a note to myself and GG as well )

Hopefully I will try to make this one. Will just have to wait and see.
Last I checked, the V only takes cash. That way you keep the line moving. For those who have never been, a word of caution: know what you want when you get up to the counter. "Two C dogs, Strings, F.O.!" _________________ PRG
