Hey Hounds...
Some of you veteran Hounds know we've been webcasting live investigations here on this site for 2 years now. Its been a while since we did one, because I've been looking for a more simplified server solution.
I think I've found a couple products and services that will simplify the process for me immensely. So.... we're going to test one of them out this Friday the 13'th!
We'll be returning to the "Wrens Nest" for a live webcast investigation that you can watch for free right here on the site!

Hey GG,
is there any way to save that and play it later- or repeat it later sometime over the weekend? I'd love to watch but I won't be home that evening. |

Yaaaaaay!!!! Another webcast!!! And since I plan on going nowhere on Friday the 13th I'll definitely get to watch it. I've never been to the Wren's Nest to investigate or just visit it so I'm sure this will be a treat. Thanks Patrick!!!!!! |

OK Hounds!
Happy Friday the 13’th to everyone. We’ve got something special in the works for tonight!
We’ll be webcasting a live investigation as it happens! We’ll be live at the historic Joe Harris home in Atlanta GA. Harris was the author of the popular “Uncle Remus Stories” and his home is on the national register of historic places.
Our webcast is scheduled to start at 10:00 PM Eastern time.
You can tune in here to watch FOR FREE…
http://www.ghosthounds.com/modules.php?name=ChatRoom
That will take you into a special chat room I have set up for the webcast, where you can not only watch live, but interact with us!
If that URL is giving you problems, you can try the native URL from UStream…
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ghost-hounds
We’re working with a new service called Ustream that allows anyone to set up their own Internet based TV station. I evaluated a number of different services over the last couple weeks, and so far Ustream seems to be the most “mature” of the competing technologies out there, and is also the easiest to use. However it is still in the “beta” test stages, so consider tonight to be a test run “kick the tires” of this new technology.
Some have asked “will it be recorded so I can watch later?” The answer is yes! The stream will be archived for viewing later on the Ustream site.
I know there are others out there that are doing similar projects, but let it be known that Ghost Hounds was the FIRST to webcast a live investigation as it happened! I’ve been at this webcasting for over two years now, and while its been some time since we’ve brought a live investigation to an Internet audience, we were THE first to do so! We were also the first to webcast a paranormal conference live in its entirety back in 2005, and we’ve been bringing “GhoStock” to those who can only join us “in spirt” in streaming video for free ever since!
Pulling off something like this is never a small feat. There are bound to be technical snafus along the way, and I appreciate everyone’s patience and feedback.
A really REALLY neat feature of Ustream is the ability to embed our video stream right into any web page or blog such as MySpace! If you’d like, you can embed our channel on your own page. Just copy and paste the following code into your page…
| Code: |
| <embed width="640" height="480" src="http://www.ustream.tv/CD32KNeChLaVM.E73D9pu4zqTgbjKgF..usc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" \> |
If everything worked out OK, the resulting embedded video should look like this…

Hey everyone...
I know others will be interested in participating on these webcasts in person as team members. There will DEFINATELY be opportunities for that! Right now I had to severely limit the attendees for this as we are still in the testing phase. Once I get stuff sorted out, we'll be webcasting more events in the future, and eligible Hounds will have the opportunity to participate in those.
In fact... if tonight's trial run goes well, we'll webcast tomorrows Ghost Hounds meeting! _________________ Patrick Burns

Thanks to everyone that "tuned in" to watch us in action tonight! But most of all, thanks for your patience and feedback while we sorted everything out.
As promised, the show is avaiable as an archive here....

I enjoyed being a voyer during the investigation.
I might have frightened poor Chris Fleming and Lain with my sense of humor and bawdy comments... not to mention poor Kently.
I hope you all had as good of a time as me! Right Casperette?

| Hi Patrick! I'm sorry I missed it live, I really wanted to watch and chat but couldn't make it. So, I'm trying to watch the archive and it's just not the same of course, but thanks so much for posting it here. Hope it was a good one for you all! I wasn't around the last time you guys did live web casts of some of your investigations but I think that's a great idea, and am looking forward to seeing and participating in some of those! |
