| As I've said in other posts, I'm new here and have been out of the game for a while. I'm just curious to see what everyone now considers the bare essentials their in their "Ghost Hunting Kit." I know that everyone takes a still camera, video camera, and tape recorder, but what else do researchers nowadays like to have with them while investigating a site? For me I like to have a first aid kit, towel, knife, a good length of rope, a laser pointer, flash light, extra batteries and film, taser, two-way radio, some MREs (mmm, beef stew), and if its a long session, my good ole pup tent. I've also got into the habit of taking an evidence kit with me, just in case. So, what's in your bag? |

Welcome to the group. I have a question..why would you take a taser and MRE's? Just wondering. Thanks and have fun here. _________________ "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars" - Les Brown |

| The MREs are simple, when I go to a sight, it's not just a one-hour jog through a cemetery, i stay there for five, maybe six hours, and like all people, I get hungry. The taser was actually part of an experiment I wanted to try, but never had an oppurtunity to after i thought of. I wanted to find an apparition that was close to a magnetic anomaly, and see if I could alter the magnetic resonance to see if it had any effect on the apparition. The taser was handy and I figured I could make a quick, easy, and relatively powerful electromagnet with it. But like I said, I haven't yet has an oppurtunity to try. I keep taking it with me though, because it comes in handy when a crackhead jumps out at you. |

On a light note, thanks for the explaination. I didn't know if you were trying to feed the ghosts or shock them. LOL Yes, it's good to have something to eat if you're hunting a long time. The taser, I would like to see someone experiment with the EMF too. Just to see what happens, ya know? Thanks for the explaination though. _________________ "Shoot for the moon. | No problem, I tend to get a little vague at my age, so questions about what im saying or what I mean are kinda expected. |

| For tying up my prisoners, of course. HAHA. No, I learned a while back that it is always handy to have some rope nearby. For climbing up and down steep slopes, or maybe dropping a camera down a well or two, whatever comes up. |

Ahhhh- okay. Makes sence! Sounds as if you were into this for a good while. Looking forward to hearing some stories from you. Also, dont know if younoticed or not, but next weekend is our convention-GhoStock in Savannah. If you are interested I believe there are a few openings left. Awesome way to reacquaint yourself while meeting fellow Hounds!

| Jeez Pops, you still lug all that crap around? No wonder why you've got bad knees. All ya need is a couple of cameras, some DVRs, a thermometer, knife and rope. And maybe a computer to process everything with. |

And a towel, of course. The most inordinately useful object in the known universe. _________________ Show us your Orbs!!! |

Sister..my gosh...have you NO SHAME...LOL
Well back to the question...I myself only take a camera, batteries, and a video camera. I have decided not to bring the flashlight anymore until I get one with a red light. So let's hope I dont bump into anyone's "pup tent" LOL

Sounds like you have pretty much everything one could need. I always make sure to bring some good ole H2O; One does get thirsty with all that hiking. Im curious just what all you keep in your evidence collecting kit, besides maybe a container to scoop ectoplasmic matter into?? _________________ "Frankly, Scallop...I dont give a clam!"

| I know what's in his evidence kits, cause I get them for him. It's just a standard kit that includes forceps, vials, gloves, needle probes, and things of that nature. |

Thanks beeblebrox!! Sounds like your standard evidence collection kit; I was just curious if it might have something more unusual since WeirdChill seems to have thought of just about everything one could need!! I would love to have a hunting partner who was that prepared!! The only thing I can think of that he might add is some disinfectant alcohol gel to use before he chows down. _________________ "Frankly, Scallop...I dont give a clam!"
